Feedback on IPEC workshop:

June 7, 2008: 11am - 6pm

If you were present at the workshop held last Sat. at the Inderprastha Engineering College, and would like to comment on it, please add a separate item in the list below, preferably including your name, and affilication. What we are especially interested in hearing about is: (a) Which particular areas of the workshop you liked, or disliked, and (b) What topics you would like to see covered in future workshops. (I have added a sample entry.)

Comments on workshop

  • Gora Mohanty, Sarai, CSDS: Liked everything, except the delay in starting, and the formality. Workshops could have been more hands-on. Would like to see more tutorials going in-depth into Python.
  • Abhinav Sahai, RKGIT, Ghaziabad : Was wondering why the colleges stress more on the formality parts, this wasn't a M$ workshop I guess. The other thing to be taken care is that from next time only interested faculty should be invited from the college. The faculties from a couple of colleges who were present were only there for the certificate thing, and hardly could get anything, created unnecessary ruckus in the Labs resulting in quite a lot of confusion in the Lab. Rest I guess the speakers were wonderful and workshop was good especially for those who could understand fast.
  • Prakhar Agarwal, JIIT University, Noida : Yes, even I support the above mentioned point. It was way too formal. It seemed as if I was in some school with teachers all around compelled by authorities to attend the event. smile All the speech part, welcome, lightning the lamp, it was very formal. The real sense of workshop was established the moment I saw Gora, Kishore and other ILUG-D members. Sunil gave an impeccable presentation, it must have cleared many of the doubts of participants. The distribution of CDs/DVDs should have been done at the end. And not to forget, Piyush and Dipankar were real fundoo guys. Those sessions really initiated my quest for python. Thanks to IPEC for providing such wonderful labs. I'm left craving for more Python. Please Gora, organize more of python stuff, it will benefit a lot of enthusiasts. Cheers!
